Instagram Automation for Salons: Price Lists, Bookings, Bridal
A playbook for salons and beauty parlours in India: auto-send price lists and booking links from comments, and route bridal enquiries to your artist.
A salon's Instagram is its shop window. A transformation reel of a balayage or a keratin smoothening goes up, and within an hour the comments say “price?”, “kitna lagega short hair ke liye”, “Saturday slot available?”. Meanwhile your stylists are busy with clients and the front desk is answering the phone. Nobody gets to Instagram until 10 PM, and by then the girl who wanted a Saturday slot has booked somewhere else.
Instagram automation for salons is simply a way to answer those comments and DMs in seconds with your price list and booking link — and to pass the tricky ones, like bridal enquiries, to a real person.
Sort your salon's questions into three piles
Before you set up anything, scroll your last month of DMs. Most salons find the same three piles:
Pile 1: “How much?”
Haircut, global colour, highlights, facials, nail extensions, waxing. These have a fixed starting price, so they can be answered automatically with a price list.
Pile 2: “When can I come?”
Timings, location, parking, slot availability. Timings and location are fixed; actual slot availability changes every hour, so automation should send the booking link or your WhatsApp number — not promise a slot.
Pile 3: “I have a wedding in February…”
Bridal, engagement, party makeup, trials, group bookings for the sangeet. These are high-value and every one is different. Automation should collect the basics and hand over.
The price-list automation
Create an “All posts” comment automation on the keyword PRICE. Smart Matching will also catch “prices”, “what is the price of this” and “price kya hai”. Add extra keywords like “rate”, “charges” and “kitna”.
- Public reply (a few variations): “Sent you our price list 💇♀️”, “Check DMs, details bhej diye!”
- DM:
“Hi! Thanks for asking 😊 Here's our current service menu with prices 👇 [link]. Prices depend on hair length, so the stylist will confirm at the chair. Want to book? Tap below.”
Buttons: “Book a slot” (your booking page or WhatsApp link) and “Where are you?” (sends your Google Maps link and timings).
Saying “stylist will confirm” matters. A global colour for waist-length hair costs more than for a bob, and a DM that quotes one flat number leads to arguments at the counter.
A dedicated automation for each service reel
When you post a reel about one service — say, a ₹2,500 hair spa package or nail art — give that reel its own automation that sends just that service's details and a booking button. The reel's automation takes priority over the general PRICE one, so the person sees exactly what they asked about, and they only receive one DM. Our reels comment automation guide explains the setup.
Bridal enquiries: collect, then hand over
Brides research for months, compare five salons and often ask in comments: “bridal package details?”. For the keyword BRIDAL, set up a short DM flow:
- “Congratulations! 💍 When is the big day?” — buttons for this month, 1–3 months, later.
- “Here's our bridal portfolio and what's included in each package 👇 [link]”
- “Share your number and our bridal artist will call you to discuss your look and a trial.”
The phone number goes into your Leads list with her Instagram username. Your senior artist then calls — because the conversation about skin type, the outfit colour and a trial date is not something a bot should run. This is the same pattern as Instagram lead generation, just dressed for a wedding.
Offers and festive rushes
Before Karwa Chauth, Diwali or the wedding season, salons run offers like a facial + cleanup combo. Put “Comment GLOW for the offer details” in the caption, and create an automation on that reel. Use a story too: “Reply OFFER to this story” with a story reply automation that sends the same details. Turn the reel's automation off when the offer ends, so nobody gets an expired price.
First DM welcome
Many clients don't comment — they just message “hi”. A first-DM automation can reply with three buttons: “Price list”, “Book appointment”, “Bridal enquiry”. Set it to repeat once per 24 hours at most, so regular clients chatting about their next visit aren't greeted with a menu every time.
Where a human must step in
- Complaints — a colour that didn't turn out right, a burn from waxing. Reply personally and quickly.
- Skin and allergy questions — “I'm allergic to PPD, can I do colour?” needs your expert, not a template.
- Discount requests for group bookings — the owner decides.
- Reschedules and cancellations — handle them in the shared inbox, where the whole conversation is in one thread.
Is it safe for your account?
Yes, when it runs on the official Instagram API. It only replies to people who commented or messaged you first; it doesn't send cold DMs or need your password. A business can send one private reply per comment within 7 days, which is exactly what this uses. More in our safety guide, and ready-made wording in DM templates.
