60+ Reel Comment Keyword Ideas (and How to Pick One)

Comment keyword ideas for Instagram reels, grouped by goal: price, link, guide, booking and more. Plus a quick way to choose the right word for your audience.

October 29, 2026 6 min read

“Comment LINK and I'll DM you” is everywhere now — and that's exactly why your keyword matters. The word you choose decides how many people comment, whether the right people comment, and whether your automation can actually catch what they type. Below are 60+ keyword ideas grouped by what you want the viewer to get, plus a simple way to pick one for your next reel.

If you haven't set up the automation itself yet, start with Instagram keyword trigger automation — this post is only about the word.

First, the three rules every good keyword follows

  1. Short. One word, ideally under seven letters. People comment from their thumbs, often mid-scroll. “GUIDE” beats “SENDMETHEGUIDE”.
  2. Obvious. The word should describe what they'll receive. If the reel is about a saree collection and the keyword is “MAGIC”, half your viewers won't connect the two.
  3. Easy to spell on an Indian keyboard. Avoid words people autocorrect or spell three ways. “MENU” is safe; “CATALOGUE” becomes “catalog”, “catlog” and “katalog”.

Keywords for price questions

Use these when the reel shows a product or service and the natural next question is “kitne ka hai?”.

  • PRICE, RATE, COST, MRP
  • KITNA, DAAM (Hinglish — great for local audiences)
  • OFFER, DEAL, SALE (when there's a discount to reveal)
  • QUOTE (for services like interiors, catering, events)
  • FEES (coaching, classes, courses)
  • EMI (furniture, electronics, courses with instalments)

Price keywords work best when people would comment “price?” anyway. You're not inventing a behaviour; you're just answering it in their DMs within seconds.

Keywords for links and shopping

  • LINK, SHOP, BUY, ORDER
  • CART, STOCK, SIZE (fashion and footwear)
  • SHADE (makeup), FIT (clothing), COLOUR (home décor)
  • WANT, NEED, MINE (fun, impulse-style products)
  • DROP (new collection launches)
  • RESTOCK (for sold-out items — collect interest before stock lands)

For product reels, a link alone is weak. Send a short line, the price, and a button — see the product-card approach in Instagram automation for e-commerce.

Keywords for guides, freebies and lead magnets

  • GUIDE, PDF, FREE, LIST, NOTES
  • PLAN, CHART, DIET (fitness and nutrition)
  • SCRIPT, TEMPLATE, HOOKS (for creators teaching content)
  • RECIPE (food creators), ROUTE (travel), ITINERARY → shorten to TRIP
  • CHECKLIST → shorten to CHECK
  • SYLLABUS, PYQ (exam-prep educators)

These are the highest-intent keywords for creators, because the viewer is asking for something specific. Ideas for what to actually send are in lead magnet ideas that work through DMs.

Keywords for bookings and appointments

  • BOOK, SLOT, CALL, DEMO
  • VISIT (real estate site visits, showrooms)
  • TRIAL (gyms, classes, salons)
  • CONSULT (clinics, lawyers, CAs)
  • DATE (wedding photographers, decorators)
  • JOIN (batches, workshops, communities)

Booking keywords are where asking for a phone number makes sense, because a human will usually call. Keep the DM short: confirm what they asked for, then ask for the number with a clear reason.

Keywords for information and details

  • DETAILS, INFO, MORE
  • MENU (restaurants, cloud kitchens, cafés)
  • LOCATION, ADDRESS → shorten to MAP
  • BATCH, TIMING (classes)
  • SPECS (gadgets, vehicles)
  • PLOTS, 2BHK, 3BHK (property)

Keywords for engagement and community

  • YES, ME, IN (low-effort, high volume)
  • 🔥 or ❤️ (emoji triggers — fine if you also accept “any comment”)
  • PART2 (when the reel is a teaser)
  • WAITLIST, EARLY (pre-launch)
  • GIFT, WIN (giveaways — see the rules in our giveaway automation guide)

That's well over 60 words. Now the harder part: choosing one.

How to pick the right keyword in two minutes

Ask yourself these questions in order:

  1. What will they get in the DM? Write that down in two words — “the price”, “the PDF”, “a slot”. Your keyword is usually one of those words.
  2. What would they type anyway? If your comments are already full of “price pls”, use PRICE. Don't fight what your audience naturally says.
  3. Is it unique enough? “YES” on a reel where people also chat (“yes this is so true!”) will trigger DMs they didn't ask for. For chatty audiences, pick a word nobody uses by accident.
  4. Will you reuse it? Keeping one keyword per offer across reels (always “MENU” for your menu) trains your followers. They start commenting it before you even ask.

English, Hinglish, or both?

Your audience tells you. If your comments are a mix of “price?”, “kitne ka hai” and “rate batao”, set up a few related keywords on the same automation: PRICE, RATE, KITNA. JaldiDM's Smart Matching also catches word forms and keywords inside longer sentences, so “what is the price of this” still matches “price” and “prices” does too.

What Smart Matching won't do is guess that “daam” means price — add the Hindi and Hinglish words you actually see in your comments.

Keyword or “any comment”?

A keyword filters for intent: only people who typed LINK get the link. “Any comment” replies to everyone, which is great for giveaways or a reel where every comment is basically a request. In JaldiDM you can run both — say, a keyword automation on one reel and an “All posts” catch-all — and the most specific one answers, so nobody gets two DMs for one comment. More on that setup in Instagram reels comment automation.

Mistakes that quietly kill comments

  • Changing the keyword in the caption but not in the automation. Test with a second account every time.
  • Two keywords in one CTA (“comment PRICE or LINK or INFO”). Pick one; accept the others silently.
  • A keyword that sounds salesy for a soft reel. On a storytelling reel, “STORY” or “PART2” feels natural; “BUY” doesn't.
  • No public reply. A quick “Sent! Check your DMs 📩” under each comment shows others that it works.

Once you have the word, the next job is saying it well — the caption, the on-screen text and the spoken line. That's covered in how to write the “comment and I'll DM you” CTA.
